What's included in a complete air suspension kit?
A typical system includes air springs or air struts, a compressor, an air tank, a valve manifold, air lines, wiring, and a controller. Depending on the kit, some components may be sold separately. Vehicle-specific kits can also include mounting hardware and brackets.
How does air suspension work?
Air springs replace conventional coil springs. An onboard compressor fills an air tank, and valves direct compressed air into or out of each air spring. This changes the suspension's ride height. The shocks or struts still control suspension movement and damping.
Can I raise my car to clear speed bumps and steep driveways?
Yes, if the system has sufficient adjustment range. Raising the car can help with obstacles, but it doesn't guarantee that every bumper, underbody component, or exhaust section will clear them.
Can I still use my trunk after installing air suspension?
Usually yes, depending on the compartment size. The compressor and tank occupy some trunk space, but the layout can be designed around your needs.
